Product Development 1 - CADD
Computer-aided drafting and design or CADD, is the use of software to draw and design physical components or to layout processes. With CADD, shapes and lines can be drawn easily and quickly, content can be easily copied, edited, saved and shared. The app that we will be using is Fusion 360.
For our first activity, we were tasked to create our very own keyring with our names on it. Here are some examples.
Figure 1: Lionel’s Keyring
Figure 2 : Jing Kiat’s Keyring
Figure 3: Sean’s Keyring
In addition, during lesson there was another activity to help us further familiarise ourselves with the Fusion 360 application.
Reflection
For this week’s lesson, we have learnt about the use of computer aided drafting and design applications and have used and familiarized ourselves with fusion 360 through drawing simple sketches like a keyring nametag. The different uses of the application enable us to draw various shapes and lines easily and we can even assign each sketch or each component a different material or color to help us visualize the product better. As for the final activity we were tasked to draw a sketch of a simple photo frame as shown in figure 5.
